Rules
New to Vroomle? Start with How to play.
The daily track
- There is one track a day, the same for every player.
- A new track starts at 00:00 UTC (midnight in London in winter).
- Every car drives exactly the same. Colours and finishes are for looks only.
Laps
- You have 3 laps a day.
-
A lap is used the moment its start lights begin. Quitting doesn't give it back, so only
press Start run when you're ready.
-
After each lap, choose Next lap (if you have laps left) or
Submit. Laps you haven't driven can still be driven later the same day.
-
A run must be submitted or discarded before you start another. Only
submitted laps count.
-
If you quit in the middle of a lap, that lap has no time. Laps you finished earlier in the
run still count when you submit.
-
A run started before midnight UTC can be finished and submitted shortly after; it counts for
the day it started. You can't start another lap of that day once it has ended.
The start and the clock
- The clock starts when the start lights go out and stops at the finish line.
-
Jump start: pressing accelerate or reverse while a red light is on adds
0.750 seconds to that lap.
-
A key held down when the lights go out does nothing until you let go and press it again.
-
Reset (R on a keyboard): puts your car back on the track at the same point.
There is no time penalty, but the clock keeps running. You can reset again after half a
second.
Your time and the leaderboard
- Your time for the day is your fastest submitted lap.
-
The leaderboard shows each player's position, name, lap time, sector times and whether they
played on a phone or a computer.
-
Ties: if two laps have the same time, the player who was faster in two or
more of the three sectors ranks higher. If that doesn't separate them, they share the
position.
-
A day's results become final shortly after midnight UTC, once late runs have been submitted
and checked.
Names
-
You choose a display name when you first submit a lap. There are no accounts or passwords.
-
Names are 3 to 14 characters: letters, numbers, spaces,
_ and -. A
4-digit tag (like Fox#4821) tells players with the same name apart.
-
No rude or hateful names, no advertising, and no names that pretend to be staff or the game.
Moderators may rename a player who breaks this rule.
Fair play
-
Every submitted lap is checked: our server replays it from your controls. Laps whose replay
doesn't match, and impossible times, are kept off the leaderboard.
-
Don't use bots, scripts, modified game files or anything else that drives or times the car
for you.
-
Vroomle has no accounts, so clearing your browser gives you a new player. Please don't use
it to get extra laps.
-
You can report a suspicious lap from the leaderboard. Moderators can remove laps and ban
players who cheat; a banned player's laps leave every leaderboard.
Streaks and colours
- Submit at least one lap on a day to keep your streak going.
- Miss a day and your streak starts again from 1.
-
Car colours unlock from your best streak ever, so you keep them if a streak
ends:

When a day closes, the top players win a special finish for their car. You keep it for good
and can put it on in the Garage from the next day.
